Welcome to my online stained glass mosaic class!

My method of creating mosaics brings a fun, contemporary approach to this ancient art form by using lots of free form cuts and random bits to create a beautiful, organic design almost like painting with glass! It's going to be a lot of fun, I hope you'll join me!

What's included? Your class purchase includes a PDF file with supply lists and a password protected link for Vimeo (a video sharing platform) to view the 12 videos I've created. These videos contain over 3 hours of footage and you can watch at your own pace! I cover everything from tools, supplies, and glass cutting to designing, creating, and putting the finishing touches your mosaic. You will watch me create this beautiful. free-form flower mosaic and follow my creative process start to finish. This course also includes a bonus video for creating a mini sized flower mosaic! *Please note this is not a "follow a pattern" or "copy the teacher" class, instead, I will demonstrate the techniques you can use to create your own stained glass mosaics in unlimited designs, not just flowers!

How does an online class work? Within a few minutes after your purchase you will receive a PDF by email that contains the link and password to the videos, supplies list and a link to join the private Facebook group. *Important* you will need an updated PDF reader to open the PDF with the links and password. PDF readers are standard software on most computers but some smartphones or tablets may not have it. If your device can't open the PDF, email me and I'll send you the text information directly. I may not see your email immediately, (or during the night in my time zone) but I will get to you as soon as possible.

Is this for beginners or advanced students? Both! If you are new to mosaic art or just curious what it's all about, watching the videos will give you a first hand look as I guide you through the tools, glass, substrates, grouting and more so you can feel confident creating your own designs. If you already work with mosaics, I think you will find lots of tips and inspiration as well!

What materials do I need? I include a list of the tools and materials I use in the class in the PDF. If you are just starting out, watching the videos first and referencing the list will guide you to exactly what you need to get started and if you currently create mosaics, you probably have all you need on hand. The only requirement to view the course is a PDF reader to get the links and password and a device that can handle high definition videos. Check the list below for browsers that will provide optimal viewing.

Supported browsers and versions for playback on Vimeo include:

  • Chrome 30+
  • Firefox 27+
  • Internet Explorer 11
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Safari 9+

Mobile/Tablets

  • Android (Lollipop) version 5.0+
  • iOS version 9.3.5+

Can I share the class and links? I will kindly request that you keep the links and password to yourself or members of your household. I really have no desire to spend time tracking shares of this link however, if I see that the link is being overshared or made public, I can remove access. Help support and uplift a fellow artist by encouraging friends to purchase the class on their own. Thank you!

How long will the link/password be valid for this class? At least a year, probably longer.

Private Facebook group Your PDF also includes the link to access a private Lucy Designs Online Mosaic Class Facebook group where you can ask questions, share your progress and interact with others who have taken the class.
